As part of METRONET’s Thornlie-Cockburn Link Project, there will be essential works on the Mandurah Line resulting in a Shutdown between Aubin Grove and Elizabeth Quay stations from first service on Sunday 26 December until last service on Friday 14 January 2022.
The work includes moving the Mandurah Line tracks to edges of the rail corridor to make room for the new Thornlie-Cockburn Link tracks.
The Thornlie-Cockburn Link is Perth’s first east-west rail connection, providing a higher level of public transport service to Perth’s southern suburbs. The new 17.5km line includes two new stations at Nicholson Road and Ranford Road as well as upgrades to Thornlie Station, Cockburn Central Station and Stadium Station.
The Christmas-New Year period was chosen for this Shutdown because it is the quietest time for public transport and the freeway (where train replacement bus services will operate).
Please be mindful of this interruption when planning your journey in Centre.
